As I have BT Broadband, I'd need a wireless router with an integrated ADSL2+ modem. But, would I then need to be another modem-free router if I was to sign-up to Infinity when it is available? Or can one just connect the Infinity Modem to the router via a standard LAN ethernet port on the router to prevent the data running through the routers
Yes, the HH3 needs the OR modem - it has the red BT Infinity socket, which connects to the modem , also 4 Ethernet ports, but only one is GigE. It also has a USB port, but off the top of my head I don't remember if it is for a printer or a USB HDD or Memory Stick (or both). As everything worked fine with the BT SmartHub 6. But when I replaced the ASUS RT-AC5300 router with the DM200 modem, th I'm getting BT Infinity 2 installed soon, and I'm planning to use my existing DGND3700 as the router to replace the BT-supplied Homehub. From this thread, I see that I'll need to set the IP address for the DGND3700 to 192.168.1.254 (it is currently at the default of 192.168.0.1).
