Not sure if a coincidence or that you have to ping the router (set static IP on computer to 192.168.1.x and subnet 255.255.255.0, router IP of course is 192.168.1.1) in this situation to get the secondary partition going, but I'm back! Brick resolved!
I did all the steps, inclusive tried to ping the router. If I ping 192.168.1.1 (default router IP) it doesn't return any answer, however if I ping 192.168.1.100 (as entered in the IP dialog box) it does get an answer. Used a TFTP to shove in a firmware at the second it took one breath of air before the existing firmware fully booted up.and to get it to hard boot like that I had to jump 2 pins using a paperclip (taking the cover off and counting a few traces over on one of the chips). Ok so i could use some help here. Just got a Asus RT-N66u to replace my old router (a buffalo) since it was giving me some trouble. Right from the get go things werent going smoothly. I got the Asus all setup and it connected fine wirelessly but for some reason my unraid server and htpc tjtagv2.exe -erase:cfe will erase your router's CFE and tjtagv2.exe -flash:cfe will flash the CFE back to your router.
